Talking E-Mail V2.0 for Win95/98/NTFrom the publisher:
When an e-mail message arrives, an animated cartoon character pops up on the screen and starts reading the message. Talking E-mail is highly customizable, allowing you to specify if you want to hear who sent the message, its subject, and how many lines of the message should be read. You can stop the cartoon character at any time, or keep listening while you are working. You can even launch your default e-mail program and reply to the message.
Talking E-mail's rules system allows you to specify the behavior of the character and what he will say when a message arrives from a specific individual. A variety of animations, sounds, and other settings is available, adding fun and practicality. Talking E-mail uses Microsoft Agent technology to achieve its natural- sounding, understandable voice quality.
Talking E-mail does not work with AOL mail, Hot Mail, Yahoo mail and some of the other web based mail systems.
New features in 2.0:
- Support for multiple E-mail accounts was added.
- A Toolbar & Menu were added to allow quick access to commonly used operations.
- The rules system was enhanced to support other types of rules. You can now specify rules for the message 'subject' and message 'body'. Previously only the sender's name or E-mail address could be used.
- Character filtering is now supported for clipboard text.
- You can customize the way Talking E-mail reads the E-mail message. New features allow you to specify what will be read before the subject and message body.
- Support for mail port definition was added.
- "Pop-up on receive" now works, when the Talking E- mail is in the system tray.
- The time announcements were enhanced to allow different time intervals. You can also specify the gesture used for time announcments and what will be said.
- The read Clipboard feature is now accessible from several places. The quickest way is to simply double click the character. You can also access it from the tray menu.
- A 'Tip of the day' feature was added to help you get acquainted with the program and learn new features.
- New feature tells you when there are no new messages on the mail server after checking for mail.
- New link in the 'Help' menu allows you to download new characters and voices.
- Right clicking the character with the mouse, will display a pop-up menu with frequently used operations.
