The XingDVD Player is an ISO/IEC compliant software application that enables full-screen, full-frame rate playback of DVD titles on the PC.
This software solution is completely DirectShow compatible and is capable of all DVD navigation, including Parental controls, Titles, Chapters, Subtitles, Language, Audio, Menus, and Closed Captions, as described in the DVD Specification. The XingDVD Player can recognize regions and has the ability to play titles from all six regions*. With the ability to decode file-based content, it can play all MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video and audio streams as well, including AC-3 and MP3 audio formats.
Additionally, the interface is fully customizable through XingJackets technology, allowing the user to change the look, feel and functionality of the XingDVD Player's interface. The XingDVD Player has obtained certification for Dolby and has also received the Windows 98 Logo license.
*Note about region changes:
Windows 98 region code changes are managed by the Operating System.
Windows 95 region code changes can be changed by the XingDVD Player for a maximum of 25 times.
Some DVD-ROM drives (3rd generation) will lock the region codes after 5 changes.
Xing Labs recommends that only expert users modify their region codes.
